Every filament of the sheath and the core of 'Golden Dry' ropes is treated with a water repellent chemical before the rope is manufactured. This chemical covering is polymerised at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is given by the polymerisation, but also because of the individual treatment of each filament before the rope is made. A Golden Dry rope is a rope with the core Dry treated, and a sheath of Dry Cover.Every strand of a 'Dry Cover' rope's sheath is treated before the rope is manufactured using a chemical mixture that improves abrasion resistance and is hydrophobic. This chemical application is polymerised at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is due to the polymerisation as well as the treatment of every sheath strand prior to production. The core of a Dry Cover rope is untreated.

Strong points:
- Very limited weight gain in wet conditions.
- Prevents the rope thickening too much.
- Improved rope-running through KARABINERS and belay devices.
- Improved abrasion resistance in normal climbing use.

Strong points:
- Improves resistance to dust and humidity.
- Limits water absorption by the sheath's strands.
- Improves the rope's running when passed through. KARABINERS and belay devices.
- Improves abrasion resistance during normal use.
